According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, another 48 people were arrested during the protest rally held in Tbilisi on December 6-7.

According to the agency, the actions of some of the people at the protest took on a violent character.

According to the ministry, the protest participants are being detained by law enforcement officers on charges of disobeying a lawful request of a police officer and petty hooliganism, in accordance with Articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announces that two more individuals have been arrested under the Criminal Code, accused of participating in group violence.

"The following are detained: I.K., born in 1995, and a foreign citizen S.K., born in 1997. The investigation established that the defendants committed violent acts in a group during the ongoing protests on Rustaveli Avenue, resisted and did not obey the lawful demands of law enforcement officers, and threw various objects in their direction. 28 people have been detained by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of the investigation," the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
