Artists' protest - actors blocked the road in front of the Rustaveli Theater. They say this is symbolic, and they will soon join the ongoing protest in front of the Parliament.
Previously, the theater doors were closed to the actors – the entrances to the Rustaveli Theater are now guarded by a human wall of Gomelauri's squad.
The artists are standing outside the door, waiting for the theater director to give them permission to hold a public discussion about the difficult situation in the country.
Representatives of the third sector are also present on site.
Artists say everyone should strike because "the country is at war and victory is essential."
We should strike, it will be the driver, the actor, everyone except the ambulance, because there is a catastrophic situation in the country. We are in war mode today and we must win. The gathering here happened because the Rustaveli Theater is a symbol of Georgian theater, ”says actor Vaniko Tarkhnishvili.
"Those people who declare themselves the government have lost all legitimacy. It is symbolic that they are protesting in front of our Rustaveli Theater, because this is the national theater and this is a national assembly where we can all participate and discuss a solution, " said Kakha Kintsurashvili.
Recently, Robert Sturua released a statement, writing that the Rustaveli National Theater is a temple of art and it is its duty not to interfere in politics.
